International Week in Helsinki

The HSE Executive MBA International Week brings together HSE EMBA participants from different locations – Helsinki, Seoul, Singapore, Taipei and Poznan. You will complete three courses towards your EMBA award in an efficient and compact way. In addition to studying, you will have opportunities to meet business leaders, visit companies, visit Helsinki School of Economics (HSE), enjoy the city at its best and network with your EMBA peers.

Program for the week
Challenging Your Business Skills The week begins with Business Simulation. It is launched in each location prior to the International Week. The final rounds of the competition are run in Helsinki on the first two days, Sunday and Monday. This is a team effort. As a team member you will have to take responsibility for leadership decision-making and the destiny of your virtual company in a global competitive market place. The winning teams will be celebrated during a cruise and dinner Tuesday evening.

Innovations and Responsibility Across Cultures
For the next three days, you will participate in one of the following three groups according to your preference. One group will deepen their Innovations Management capabilities, another group will challenge themselves to become more competent in Corporate Responsibility in Global Market, and the third group will enhance their Cross-Cultural Management skills. Whichever group you choose, you will be exposed to the latest on leadership through the input of the outstanding HSE EMBA faculty and top management guests speakers. They will inspire you to pose relevant questions and to elaborate your insight into successful leadership. Optional company visits complement the classroom discussions.

Breakthrough Leadership
All participants come together for the final two days to have a good, hard look at leadership and business and to invent new ways to lead people and do business effectively and responsibly. The key question underlying this session is: How can leaders and managers create the right environment so that people – individuals and teams – can indeed perform and enjoy?

To register to the International Week, you will need to fill in a registration form that will be distributed in March and return it to your local EMBA staff by 30 May 2008.

HSE Executive MBA 20th Anniversary
Gala Dinner
As an HSE Executive MBA participant, you arewarmly invited to the Gala Dinner to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of HSE Executive MBA on 28 August 2008. You can book your place upon registration to the International Week. The price of the Gala Dinner is 80 euros per person.

Travel and accommodation
Each participant is responsible for his/her travel arrangements to and from Helsinki and for accommodation in Helsinki. Hotel Scandic Grand Marina opposite the Marina Congress Center is recommended. Seminar fee
The seminar fee of 100 euros + VAT 22 % will be invoiced directly to you upon confirmation of participation in May 2008. The seminar fee entitles you to the International Week program including course materials, receptions, company visits and Helsinki Skyline Cruise. Daily lunches and the Gala Dinner are excluded. There are a variety of restaurants and cafés to choose from for lunch near the Marina Congress Center.
